2010 Jonathan Larson Grant Winners Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond have announced the release of their new album OUT OF OUR HEADS: The Music of Kooman and Dimond, featuring Tony Award nominees Kerry Butler (Catch Me If You Can, Rock of Ages, Xanadu, Little Shop of Horrors), Christopher Sieber (La Cage aux Folles, Shrek, Spamalot) and Patina Miller (Sister Act), as well as Broadway performers Heidi Blickenstaff (The Addams Family, [title of show], The Little Mermaid), Anderson Davis (Les Miserables), Matt Doyle (War Horse, Bye Bye Birdie, Spring Awakening), Chris Mann (TV: Glee), Kyle Dean Massey (Next To Normal, Xanadu, Wicked), Phoebe Strole (Spring Awakening), and Natalie Weiss (Everyday Rapture). The album will be released digitally on iTunes on Tuesday June 28th, 2011.

The national tour of 'Rock of Ages' will play the 97-year-old Shubert Theater in New Haven in December. The musical will be making its Connecticut debut. The non-Equity show will be part of the 2011-12 seat at the theater and will run Dec. 9 to 11. The musical is described as 'an arena-rock love story told through the 80s hits of Journey, REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar and more.'

Earlier this week, The star had been said to have withdrawn for unspecified personal reasons, however announcements from New Line Cinema and his appearance on set at the read through yesterday seemed to indicate otherwise. Also signed on the project are Tom Cruise, Julianne Hough, Mary J. Blige and Diego González Boneta. One once-confirmed star to depart their company is Alec Baldwin, who has reportedly pulled out of the film for unspecified reasons, The Hollywood Reporter reveals. According to Deadline.com, Malin Akerman has joined the cast of the highly anticipated big screen adaptation of ROCK OF AGES. Akerman will play Constance, 'a journalist who intends to write an expose on decadent rocker Stacee Jaxx (Tom Cruise).' Director Adam Shankan previously offered the role to both ANne Hathaway and Amy Adams.

'Breaking Bad's' Bryan Cranston is set to play the mayor in the upcoming 'Rock of Ages' film, to be directed by Shankman and based on the Broadway musical, according to Deadline.com. Cranston will play the husband of an advocate who wants to ban rock and roll. That role will be played by Catherine Zeta-Jones and both were created specifically for the movie.
