Today in Times Square, famed Q104 classic rock radio host Jim Kerr climbed out onto the marquee of Hard Rock Cafe to announce that the five-time Tony Award-nominated musical ROCK OF AGES will return to the New York stage this summer in a special 10th Anniversary Production at New World Stages (340 W 50th St). To mark the announcement, and the milestone anniversary, he was joined by alumni from throughout the musical's Broadway run, who performed 'Don't Stop Believin' live above Times Square. The return production of the musical - produced by Michael Cohl/S2BN Entertainment in association with Barry Habib, Scott Prisand/Seth Fass, Tony Smith, and Randi Zuckerberg/Mara Burros-Sandler - begins performances on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, for a 16-week limited engagement through Sunday, September 29, 2019. Kansas City Repertory Theatre, under the artistic leadership of Eric Rosen, closes its 2011-12 season with a professional production of the popular musical Little Shop of Horrors; book and lyrics by Howard Ashman, music by Alan Menken, based on the film by Roger Corman, screenplay by Charles Griffith. Following a highly successfully L.A. premiere this past February 2011, ROCK OF AGES, the five-time Tony Award nominated smash-hit musical, returns to Los Angeles for a strictly limited, face-melting one week engagement now through March 25, 2012 at the Pantages Theatre. Martin Markinson and Jeff Tick are pleased to announce that Monday, March 12th marks the 100th anniversary of the Little/Helen Hayes Theatre (240 West 44th Street), which opened on March 12, 1912 with John Galsworthy's play THE PIGEON. The theatre is currently home to the smash hit musical Rock of Ages. A private centennial celebration at the theatre is confirmed for Thursday, May 24, 2012. Shaiman and Wittman lent their talents for a surprise Q&A with the students of Broadway Artists Alliance. Following the Q&A, they led a Song Interpretation master class.

In celebration of the reopening of Rock of Ages at the Helen Hayes Theatre, Dee Snider of Twisted Sister was honored with a certificate naming him the show's worldwide ambassador during a celebration held at Bowlmor Lanes Times Square this past Friday. Snider, whose music is featured in the hit Broadway show (‘I Wanna Rock' and ‘We're Not Gonna Take It'), recently played the character of 'Dennis' for an 11 week run before the show went dark last fall in anticipation of its move to the Helen Hayes Theatre.

After a breif hiatus, ROCK OF AGES re-opened at the Helen Hayes Theatre on Broadway last night, March 24. The five-time Tony Award nominated musical played its final performance at The Brooks Atkinson Theatre on Sunday, January 9, 2011. The production moved houses to make way for RAIN, which had to vacate it's home at the Neil Simon Theatre to accommodate Catch Me If You Can. Whoopi Goldberg and her fellow producers for the provocative new rock musical White Noise, announce that Tony-nominated actor Douglas Sills has joined the cast of White Noise and will play the role of the top-selling record producer, Max.

Last week, Constantine Maroulis, former American Idol contestant and ROCK OF AGES leading man, spoke to the Hollywood Reporter about the upcoming Rock of Ages film and what he thinks of the casting news and rumors. 'I think the guy's amazing, and I think he would just crush it,' he said of Tom Cruise, who is in the final stages of being cast as Stacee Jaxx, as Broadway World reported this morning. '[Stacee Jaxx] would be a great role for him because he can use all his ability and put it into this character.' While most celebs travel incognito, Tony nominee Constantine Maroulis basked in the spotlight last night. After his performance of ROCK OF AGES, the Tony Award nominee graciously signed autographs for fans who lined up outside the stage door, before crossing the street to his own private CitySights tour bus. The former 'Idol' star and his entourage headed over to the show's after party at B.B. Kings on top of the iconic double-decker blue bus for all passersby to see.
