Country Music will take over Berry on the South Coast of NSW on Saturday 9 May 2020 for the 2nd annual Big Country Festival featuring a line-up of Australia's top country artists.

Next up for L.A. Theatre Works will be Qui Nguyen's VIETGONE, set to be recorded live at the James Bridges Theater on the UCLA campus for four performances beginning January 24, 2020. East West Players' Producing Artistic Director Emeritus Tim Dang will direct this semi-fictional tale of how Qui's parents met in an Arkansas relocation camp. The talented cast includes Will Dao, Desirée Mee Jung, Greg Watanabe, Paul Yen and Jeena Yi. I grabbed the opportunity, after all these years of knowing him, to interview the creative force behind the early development of the East West Players - Tim Dang.

John Mulaney is an Emmy Award winning writer and comedian. Grammy winning new-music choir, The Crossing, is featured on the New York Philharmonic's new recording of its world premiere performance of Julia Wolfe's Fire in my mouth out digitally today, August 30, 2019, and in physical format on October 4, 2019 on Decca Gold, Universal Music Group's newly established US classical music label.

Carnegie Hall today announced the 2019-2020 season of Carnegie Hall Citywide, a free concert series that brings music to all five boroughs of New York City. Dressy Bessy—Tammy Ealom, John McDowell Hill and Craig Gilbert—announce more tour dates in support of Fast Faster Disaster out June 14. Kicking off a seven-date run May 17, at the 40 Watt Club in Athens, GA, with Filthy Friends, the band will play two Denver release shows—June 14-15 at the legendary Lion's Lair– followed by more dates with Potty Mouth and Colleen Green throughout July and August. Denver-based indie rock band Dressy Bessy—Tammy Ealom, John McDowell Hill and Craig Gilbert—who create “teeth-eroding pop” (SPIN) are set to release Fast Faster Disaster on June 14. Their seventh studio album, and second for Yep Roc Records, comes as the band celebrates their 20th anniversary as “pioneers of the fuzzy, buzzy lo-fi rock” (Cleveland.com). Westword premieres the official video for “Stay True” (watch/share), the album's first single today.

During an interview with Vulture, John Mulaney discussed his return to SNL, which featured the follow-up musical sketch to the famous 'Diner Lobster,' which was a 'Les Miserables' song parody sketch. The sequel sketch, 'Bodega Bathroom' featured musical spoofs of songs from 'Rent', 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory', to name a few.
