Lawrence Edelson, Founder and Producing Artistic Director of American Lyric Theater (ALT), announced today that three composers, three librettists, and one dramaturg have been selected as Resident Artists to participate in the tenth anniversary season of the company's nationally acclaimed Composer Librettist Development Program (CLDP). The artists selected for this prestigious residency and training program are composers Shuying Li, Andy Tierstein, and Liliya Ugay; librettists Lorene Cary, Julian Crouch, and Lila Palmer; and dramaturg Antigoni Gaitana.

It starts August 4 with a headline after-show Lollapalooza concert at the Park West in Chicago (more info and tickets here) which rolls into their August 5 appearance at the festival.Up next is the release of the 25thanniversary of their 1991 debut full-length album, MENTAL JEWELRY, with a deluxe reissue digitally and physically via Radioactive/Geffen/Ume (pre-order is available now here). It's due out August 11, the same day the recently reunited original line-up of +LIVE+--Ed Kowalczyk (vocals, guitar), Chad Taylor (guitar, backing vocals), Patrick Dahlheimer (bass) and Chad Gracey (drums, percussion)--begin three shows as the support act for Guns N' Roses. See all of the band's tour dates below which will keep them on the road deep into the fall including three shows in Australia and as many in South Africa.

An eclectic lineup is featured this month at Blue Note Hawaii with an array of iconic national artists, local favorites and hilarious comedians. The Henry Kapono Artist to Artist Series continues with Jerry Santos of Olomana, followed by local greats Shawn Pimental and Lehua Kalima, one-man wonder Tavana, Kapono N??ili?ili, Brother Noland and of course the incomparable Willie K. The Blue Note Hawaii Comedy Series continues this month with Steve Byrne and Louie Anderson. National recording artist and GRAMMY Award-winning R&B icon Regina Belle kicks off the month and is book ended with a capella phenoms Take 6. More artists this month include bandoneon player JP Jofre and his Nuevo Tango Quartet, the amazing flamenco guitarist Ottmar Liebert and pop singer-songwriter Eric Hutchinson. There are also two late-night shows with self-proclaimed blues road dog G Love, following his performances at the sold-out Jack Johnson concerts.

Lars Ulrich will host his Metallica bandmates on It's Electric, his online radio show on Apple Music's Beats 1. The episodes were recorded in Canada earlier this month at various tour stops on the band's WorldWired North American tour and are unlike anything Metallica fans have ever heard before.

Currently, Lucas is mostly staying at his home in Atlantic City recovering from severe complications he received from open heart surgery in January 2016. He suffered extensive injuries to his hands and feet, spent a total of 4 1/2 months in the cardiac ICU at Brigham and Women's hospital & various rehabs and has been unable to return work. Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College continues its 2016-17 season on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 8pm with GRAMMY Award-winning jazz singer Patti Austin performing Ella Now and Then: A Centennial Celebration of the First Lady of Song. This tribute concert marks the 100thbirthday of the great Ella Fitzgerald (born April 25, 1917) and will feature selections from Ms. Austin's soon-to-be-released album Ella: Now & Then.

Last Saturday, March 4, country music superstars Reba McEntire, Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn wrapped yet another run of sold-out shows of their hit residency  "Together in Vegas" at  The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.  Since the highly-anticipated opening in June 2015, "REBA, BROOKS & DUNN: Together in Vegas" has performed 45 shows.  Solidified as the longest running country music residency ever at the venue, the trio will next return this summer on June 21, 2017 to kick off their third consecutive year as Colosseum headliners.   

Downtown Urban Arts Festival (DUAF), presented by Creative Ammo Inc., is a renowned multi-disciplinary arts event with cultural offerings in theater, film, music and poetry held annually during the spring at venues in downtown Manhattan, NYC.

Rehearsals began this week for the revival of John Guare's critically acclaimed play Six Degrees of Separation starring seven-time Emmy Award winner Allison Janney ('Mom,' The Girl on the Train) as Ouisa, Tony Award winner John Benjamin Hickey (The Normal Heart, 'Manhattan') as Flan and Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton, '24: Legacy') as Paul. Directed by Trip Cullman (Significant Other, Yen), Six Degrees of Separation will begin previews Wednesday, April 5 prior to the official opening on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Barrymore Theatre. The production will play a 15-week run through Sunday, July 16.
