Portland Center Revises 2009/2010 Season Lineup, THE CHOSEN Moves To Mainstage
by Gabrielle Sierra - May 15, 2009

Three studio titles will change and one production will move to the Main Stage in a major revision of the Portland Center Stage 2009/2010 season. Early strong seller The Chosen will move to the Main Stage, replacing Joe Turner's Come and Gone (which will be deferred to future season). In the studio, a possible Broadway tour causes our production of Thurgood Marshall to be postponed, and The Best So Far will be put on hold to give it a bit more gestation (and New York fundraising) time.

MY BRILLIANT DIVORCE Returns To Downstage Theater 3/26-4/11
by BWW News Desk - Mar 26, 2009

See Ginette McDonald starring in the strictly limited return season of My Brilliant Divorce, a wittily observant, achingly funny and heart-wrenchingly real one-woman tour de force. A sell-out in 2008, this comedy explores what life is like for Angela, recently dumped by her accountant husband for a younger model. Emotionally bereft and with self-confidence at an all time low, Angela slowly and at times painfully rebuilds her life. She finds herself adrift in a sea of weird sexual encounters, sneaky solicitors, phone-in counsellors, a bad case of hypochondria and the spectre of poverty. Should she fight to keep her husband? Or should she sign the final papers and move on?
