The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center today announces several additions to the creative team for Wonderland: Alice's New Musical Adventure. According to producer Judith Lisi, president and CEO of TBPAC, Marguerite Derricks will choreograph the production and Ron Melrose will serve as music supervisor and provide vocal and dance arrangements as well as incidental music. Susan Hilferty, Neil Patel and Paul Gallo will design the costumes, sets and lights respectively, while Jon Weston will design the sound and Sven Ortel will design video and projections.
Artistic Director David Saint announced today the selections for George Street Playhouse's 2009-2010 season. In this economic downturn, when many arts organizations across the country are choosing to revive popular plays and musicals, Artistic Director David Saint has instead renewed the theatre's commitment to producing new work. French playwright Yasmina Reza brings her latest play, God of Carnage, to Broadway under the direction of Matthew Warchus, who has already brought three of her plays to New York over the last decade. It is again translated by longtime British collaborator, Christopher Hampton. Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini, and Marcia Gay Harden will star, with previews beginning on February 28 at the Bernard Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45 Street) and officially opening on March 22. God of Carnage is what press notes describe as 'a comedy of manners without the manners. The play deals with the aftermath of a playground altercation between two boys and what happens when their parents meet to talk about it'.

Producers David Stone, James L. Nederlander, Barbara Whitman, Patrick Catullo, and Second Stage Theatre have announced that the original musical, Next to Normal, will come to Broadway this spring, direct from its critically-acclaimed engagement at Washington D.C.'s Arena Stage, beginning preview performances at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street) on Friday, March 27th and officially opening on Wednesday, April 15.
Keen Company announced today that Tony Award-winner Ron Holgate (1776, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Grand Hotel, recent revivals of Kiss Me, Kate and Guys and Dolls) will join John Cullum and Jonathan Hogan for its upcoming production of Heroes, replacing previously announced Tony Roberts. Mr. Roberts has withdrawn from the production to attend to family matters. The New York premiere of this 2006 Olivier Award-winning play by Gerald Sibleyras with a translation by Tom Stoppard, will be helmed by Keen Artistic Director Carl Forsman and run from February 24 - April 11 at The Clurman Theatre / Theatre Row ( 410 West 42nd Street ). The official opening is set for March 8.
