At the Mezzanine Theatre at the A.R.T./New York Theatres (502 W 53rd Street), Soho Rep. is pleased to present the world premiere of Richard Maxwell's Samara, commissioned by Artistic Director Sarah Benson. In a departure, Maxwell, who has directed nearly all 20 of his plays, is handing over the directorial duties to Benson. Maxwell's work was seen previously at Soho Rep. in 2001 with Cavemen and in 1999 with Cowboys and Indians.

SILENCE! THE MUSICAL Parody Extends in San Francisco

Due to overwhelming audience response, Cloud 9 Theatricals, in association with Lang Entertainment Group and Ray of Light Theatre, announced today the extension of the San Francisco premiere of SILENCE! The Musical - the "subversively funny and deliciously tasty" award-winning musical parody of "The Silence of the Lambs." Originally scheduled to close on Saturday, February 25, tickets are now on-sale through Saturday, March 18.

Many recall Electric Light Orchestra as a powerhouse stadium and arena band who toured between 1971 and 1986. ELO Part 2 then toured from 1990 through 2000. In 2001, ELO Part 2 changed names and started performing as THE ORCHESTRA. Say the name "Joshua Seth" and many Kent, OH residents will tell you that he is the hometown boy who made good in the entertainment world, while adult fans of animation will say Joshua is best known as the villainous voice of Tetsuo, the starring role in the animated masterpiece, Akira (2001). (He also voiced the evil Young Knives in Trigun and the heroic Elk in Arc the Lad.) Playhouse Square theatergoers, however, will tell you that Joshua Seth is the amazing psychological illusionist who has entertained them the past few years with his one-man show "Beyond Belief".

The celebrated Provincetown Theater's Annual Gala, "The Rat Pack Is Back" returns over the course of three nights, featuring a Vegas-style musical revue, to benefit The Provincetown Theater Foundation, beginning December 29 and continuing December 30 and January 1 (no performance on December 31).  Each evening will feature noted Cape Cod performers and special guest stars, including Bobby Wetherbee, Larry Marsland, Peter Donnelly and Thirsty Burlington.  The theater and its lobby will provide old Vegas atmospherics, with special scenic designs that echo the classic Caesars Palace interiors, plus Vegas Showgirls and Showboys.
