The CAPA Summer Movie Series, the longest-running classic film series in America, celebrates its 45th anniversary in 2015 with an impressive assembly of classics, cult favorites, and beloved films. The 2015 series will run today, June 5-August 9 at the historic Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.) and will feature 29 films over nine weeks (no films scheduled for the week of the Fourth of July).

Susanna Malkki to Make NY Philharmonic Debut with Jonathan Biss, 5/21-23

Susanna Mälkki will make her New York Philharmonic debut conducting Brahms's Variations on a Theme by Haydn; Harvey's Tranquil Abiding; and Brahms's Piano Concerto No. 1, with Jonathan Biss as soloist. The concerts take place Thursday, May 21, 2015, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, May 22 at 11:00 a.m.; and Saturday, May 23 at 8:00 p.m.

Dear Bookworks Bookworm, I read a book this month that I had every intention of liking, but didn't. It had a story line that interested me but the characters were one dimensional and flat and the writing that was not worth writing home about. Rather than review a book that disappoints, I decided to review a movie that I had just seen with Clive Owen and Juliette Binoche, Words and Pictures. This is a movie well worth the ticket price. It is always a pleasure seeing a movie where actors do what they should be doing best, acting and where writers are doing what they should be doing best, writing.

For the first time, the Playhouse proudly offers a free, intensive, six-week musical theatre training program for young actors, culminating in two weeks of performances of Disney's Beauty and the Beast Jr. on the legendary stage at Bucks County Playhouse July 28th through August 9th.
