11th Running Of The Red Bulls Gala Benefit Will Honor Daniel Sullivan, Condola Rashad, And American Theatre Wing

Red Bull Theater Founding Artistic Director, Jim Bredeson - Red Bull Managing Director, and the Board of Trustees of Red Bull Theater are pleased to announce that the Eleventh Annual Running of the Red Bulls Gala Benefit on Monday June 3rd, at 6pm, will celebrate the company's 16th Season and honor director Daniel Sullivan, actor Condola Rashad, and the American Theatre Wing with the 2019 Matador Awards for Excellence in Classical Theater. Proceeds from the evening support all of Red Bull Theater's programs including its Off-Broadway productions of The White Devil and Mac Beth, Revelation Readings series, and its Shakespeare in Schools initiative.

TCM is once again partnering with Ball State University and Canvas to offer a free online multimedia course tied to this programming special about the history of the musical genre and its evolution with cultural and technological shifts. SFCM Announces $46.4 Million Gift For New Building: Ute And William K Bowes, Jr. Center For Performing Arts

The San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM) announces the expansion of its campus and the construction of the Ute and William K. Bowes, Jr. Center for Performing Arts (The Bowes Center) in San Francisco's Civic Center. The $185 million performing arts center and residential tower will be located at 200 Van Ness Avenue and construction will begin in the summer of 2018. The opening of the new building is slated for the fall of 2020 when it will welcome its first class of residents to a facility that will transform students through the study of music at the highest level. The name of the building is in honor and recognition of a financial gift of $46.4 million from the William K. Bowes, Jr. Foundation, which is the largest single gift ever made to a conservatory or music school for a new facility. To date, $96 million has been raised toward a fundraising goal of $110 million. The existing SFCM building at 50 Oak Street will remain in active use through the construction of the new building and after it is completed.

Awarded an honorary doctorate from the Conservatory in 2016, Ohlsson joins current SFCM piano department faculty members Yoshikazu Nagai (Chair), Jon Nakamatsu, Paul Hersh, Sharon Mann, and Corey McVicar. Ohlsson will begin teaching a studio comprised of graduate students at SFCM in Fall 2018. He will also engage in piano department activities including forums, master classes, and recitals as well as interdepartmental collaborations. Ohlsson will be a featured performer at SFCM's Centennial Gala on March 19, 2018.
