A longtime advocate for music suppressed by the Nazi regime, Polish-Canadian pianist Daniel Wnukowski (vnoo-koff'-skee) makes his New York debut this February as part of a festival dedicated to the music of Galician-Jewish composer Karol Rathaus (1895-1954). Little-known today, Rathaus was a protege of Franz Schreker and built a successful career in Berlin before fleeing in 1932 due to the deteriorating political situation in Germany. He first migrated to Paris, then to London in 1934. He settled in New York in 1938 and joined the music faculty of Queens College two years later as its first professor of composition.

The shows scheduled for 2019 extend Seinfeld's overwhelmingly successful residency at The Beacon, which began in January 2016 and concluded in December 2017 with 36 sold-out performances. The 2019 dates are as follows: January 11, February 8, March 14, March 15, April 4, April 5, May 3, May 4, June 6 and June 7, with performances at 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on all ten nights. Tickets will go on-sale on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. (EST).

The classic Musical 'Mame' opened the 2018 season last night at NSMT. The Musical by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, with Lyrics by Jerry Herman, and based on the book by Patrick Dennis, is a 1966 Musical Theatre warhorse that has starred such luminaries as, Rosalind Russell, Angela Landsbury, and even Lucille Ball, in the ill-fated 1970's movie.
Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will pay homage to the glittering world of Hollywood musicals with Mad About Musicals!, a special month of programming celebrating timeless movie musicals such as The Wizard of Oz, Singin' in the Rain and Cabaret. TCM is once again partnering with Ball State University and Canvas to offer a free online multimedia course tied to this programming special about the history of the musical genre and its evolution with cultural and technological shifts. The Fox Theatre proudly announces the Marquee Club Presented by Lexus opened to the public on Saturday, May 19, 2018 in conjunction with "Live From Here with Chris Thile" show held at the Fox Theatre. This $10 million expansion marks the largest one-time revitalization effort of the Fox Theatre since its 1929 grand opening, as the Marquee Club footprint includes the northwest corner of the building that was previously leased retail space.
