She NYC Arts will present the fourth annual She NYC Arts Summer Theater Festival, a festival featuring eight new full length shows by women writers and composers, June 19-30 at The Connelly Theater (220 East 4th Street, New York, NY 10009). Tickets ($20) are now on sale at www.shenycarts.org. 

The London Philharmonic Orchestra today announced its 2019/20 season at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall, confirming its reputation for bold, creative and distinctive programming that continues to inspire audiences on a journey of exploration and adventure. The London Philharmonic Orchestra has been performing at the Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall since it opened in 1951, becoming Resident Orchestra there in 1992.

Renowned Chinese composer and conductor Tan Dun leads the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra (GSO) in three fiery concerts across Switzerland January 25-27, 2019. The concerts begin on January 25 in Geneva (Victoria Hall) where the artists then wind their way to Zurich (Tonhalle Maag) the following day and finish on January 27 in Lucerne (KKL, Kultur- und Kongresszentrum).

The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) is proud to present a concert in which East meets West on 18 & 19 January in the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall. Our Principal Guest Conductor Yu Long, who is an ambassador for contemporary Chinese music, will open the concert with The Five Elements by renowned Chinese composer Chen Qigang. Zhang Haochen, winner of the 2009 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, will then take the stage for Rachmaninov's lyrical Piano Concerto no. 1. The programme closes with Rachmaninov's last composition, a magnificent showpiece for the orchestra, Symphonic Dances.

General Director and CEO Deborah Sandler today announced the next production of Lyric Opera of Kansas City's Explorations Series, Mack The Knife is The Man I Love: A Weill-Gershwin Cabaret which will feature the songs of George and Ira Gershwin and Kurt Weill. The 2018-2019 Explorations Series performance, with musical direction by Mark Markham and stage direction by Fenlon Lamb, will showcase the Lyric Opera's Resident Artists, including Kaylie Kahlich, Kelly Birch, Joseph Leppek, and James Maverick, plus Apprentice Artists Ruby Dibble, Jonathan Ray, and Armando Contreras. The performance will be held February 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lyric Opera's Michael and Ginger Frost Production Arts Building.

Local author and researcher Hattie Beresford will discuss her engaging new history of the Community Arts Music Association (CAMA) of Santa Barbara in a free public talk at Santa Barbara Central Library's Faulkner Gallery on Saturday, January 19. Presented by CAMA, in partnership with the library, the presentation will begin at 2 pm. Seating is limited.

Conductor Manfred Honeck's 2018/2019 season begins with a busy fall schedule, featuring appearances with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO) in September and October, and his returns to the San Francisco Symphony in October and the New York Philharmonic in November. The Old Globe's presentation of Kiss Me, Kate, the classic musical comedy featuring a book by Sam and Bella Spewack and an iconic score by Cole Porter, begins tonight, July 1, on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

Led by guest conductor Andrew Grams, the program will feature the CSO's principal cello Luis Biava and principal viola Karl Pedersen.

The new Broadway production of George Bernard Shaw's play Mrs. Warren's Profession will star Tony Award winner Cherry Jones as 'Kitty Warren' & Golden Globe winner Sally Hawkins making her Broadway debut as 'Vivie Warren.' The production will be directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd St). The cast will also feature Adam Driver as 'Frank Gardner', Mark Harelik as 'Sir George Crofts', Edward Hibbert as 'Mr. Praed' & Michael Siberry as 'Reverend Samuel Gardner'.
