The legendary Richard M. Sherman and his wife Elizabeth recently took in a performance of MARY POPPINS on Tuesday, May 18. Following the show, they toasted the Broadway company and visited with star Laura Michelle Kelly backstage at the New Amsterdam Theatre.

Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts for a limited engagement of three weeks through Sunday, June 6. MARY POPPINS plays Tuesday- Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 1 and 6:30 p.m. Great seats are still available at each performance.

This marks the fifth major production of the title since it opened in London in 2004. Only three months after the Dutch opening, a sixth production opens in Melbourne, Australia in July 2010.

Nederlander Detroit has announced that the Southeastern Michigan Lincoln Mercury Dealers will sponsor the 2010-2011 Broadway in Detroit season. All engagements will be at the Fisher Theatre, except for Mary Poppins which will play at the Detroit Opera House.
