Emma (or Emma: A Play in Two Acts about Emma Goldman, American Anarchist, its full title) is a play by historian and playwright Howard Zinn (1922–2010). It was first performed in 1976.
The Public Theater will begin performances for UNDER THE RADAR 2009 on Wednesday, January 7, 2009. Spring Awakening: In The Flesh , arrives in bookstores this month and to celebrate the arrival, the books author David Cote was joined by the show's Tony Award-Winners Steven Sater (Book & Lyrics) and Duncan Sheik (Music) on Monday, September 15 and had an informative 'conversation' - on the show, the music and its long-running success at The Barnes & Noble Store at the Lincoln Triangle (1972 Broadway @ 66th Street). The 2008 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has been awarded to Judith Thompson for her critically acclaimed play Palace of the End, marking the first time a Canadian writer has received the prestigious playwriting award's highest honor. Thompson received $20,000 and a signed and numbered print by artist Willem de Kooning at a special 30th Anniversary ceremony on Monday, March 10th at the Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas where Ms. Blackburn first became involved in theatre.
