As BroadwayWorld reported yesterday, NBC's upcoming live broadcast of 'The Sound of Music' will feature a handful of Broadway veterans to join previously announced Carrie Underwood and Stephen Moyer. Audra McDonald, Laura Benanti and Christian Borle have signed on to play Mother Abbess, Elsa Schrader and Max Dettweiler respectively. Over the weekend, hundreds of pint-sized hopefuls lined up for a chance to audition for a role as one of the Von Trapp children. The theater will be alive with The Sound of Music when a one-hour concert sing-along adaptation of the classic show is presented by Bergen County Players (BCP) as the final Second Stage production of the 80th season. Running for just three performances, from June 21st through June 23rd, shows will be on Friday and Saturday night at 8pm while the Sunday matinee curtain will be raised at 2pm.
