An impressive superstar cast of 19 artists saluted the music icon's career with songs from his stellar songbook in front of a sold-out audience at Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE. The two-hour special will be broadcast Monday, Feb. 16 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Playwrights Foundation Receives NEA Grant

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Chairman Jane Chu announced today that PLAYWRIGHTS FOUNDATION is one of 919 nonprofit organizations nationwide to receive an NEA Art Works grant. Playwrights Foundation is recommended for a $35,000 grant to support the 38th Annual Bay Area Playwrights Festival (BAPF).

Today, The Ground Floor: Berkeley Rep's Center for the Creation and Development of New Work announces that it has selected 18 projects from more than 30 innovative artists for its third Summer Residency Lab. This June, as part of an extraordinary laboratory for collaboration, some of the nation's most prominent and promising writers, directors, and composers will unite at the Theatre's campus in West Berkeley for an intense four-week period to live, dine, and create new plays together. Dozens more local and out-of-town actors and directors will join The Ground Floor process, bringing the number of artists involved close to 100.

Broadway's ROCKY Announces Lottery Policy

ROCKY, beginning previews February 11 and officially opening on March 13, announces a day-of-performance lottery for Golden Circle seats in the first two rows of Broadway's historic Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway, New York, NY). Golden Circle ticketholders will be escorted onto the stage to watch the climatic fight during the final 20 minutes of the performance. Entry to the lottery will begin two hours prior to each performance and the winners will be announced 90 minutes prior to curtain.
