The Flat Rock Playhouse 2016 season is celebrating the holiday season with a brand new Music on the Rock featuring classic carols that will transport you and your family to a winter wonderland not at the North Pole, but in the rolling green hills of Ireland. A Celtic Christmas will run from December 1st though the 18th at The Flat Rock Playhouse Downtown on Main Street in Hendersonville.

Fronted by the flamboyant, artistic, one-of-a-kind Freddie Mercury, the band developed and performed rock music like no one before them or since. On April 7 at 8:00pm at Umstattd Performing Arts Hall, the Canton Symphony Orchestra will team up with musicians from Jeans 'n Classics to perform many of Queen's top hits. American String Quartet to Perform in Cooperstown, 4/24

The music of Beethoven and Ravel will fill the Otesaga Hotel ballroom on Sunday, April 24 at 4 pm. The American String Quartet, internationally recognized as one of the world's finest, will perform these masterworks, and, with Linda Chesis, a piece for flute and string quartet by French composer Albert Roussel. This is the first concert of the Cooperstown Summer Music Festival's 18th season. Ms. Chesis, the Festival's artistic director and founder, has performed with the American String Quartet numerous times, including two times in Cooperstown. The Quartet is comprised of Peter Winograd and Laurie Carney, violins; Daniel Avshalomov, viola; Wolfram Koessel, cello.
