2016 H.P. Lovecraft Festival Comes to The Kraine Theater in Time for Halloween

FRIGID New York @ Horse Trade in association with RadioTheatre will present the 8th Annual H.P. Lovecraft Festival, written, directed, and composed by Dan Bianchi, October 13-30 at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery), with performances Thursday through Saturday at 8pm. Celebrate the High Holy Days of Halloween with the award-winning, critically acclaimed RadioTheatre as you enter the world of H.P. Lovecraft...teeming with very special denizens of its own, so rich in bloodcurdling variety that the heart thuds loudly, sweat breaks and the cringing mind searches, shuddering for the next ghastly manifestation in this terrifying festival of fiendish delights!

Now in its 12th Season, RadioTheatre (Drama Desk Award nominee, 2 time New York Innovative Theatre Award winner, nominated for 14 New York Innovative Theater Awards including 6 times for Outstanding Performance Group) will present in repertory the following cult horror classics, all live, onstage complete with award-winning sound design and original orchestral scores, in an ongoing tribute to the Grandmaster of 20th Century American Horror himself, H.P. Lovecraft (1890-1937).

THE CALL OF CTHULHU - The legendary Cthulhu returns to wreak havoc on humanity! THE RATS IN THE WALL - Are those really rats scurrying about behind the walls? THE LURKING FEAR - What is the secret behind the horror of the Martense House? THE HORROR IN THE MUSEUM - The hideous exhibits in the wax museum look a bit TOO real! THE MUSIC OF ERICH ZANN - An old mad musician communes with the world beyond! THE BEAST IN THE CAVE - Lost in darkness, a spelunker hears something moving...out there! THE CATS OF ULTHAR - The night when all the cats of Ulthar get their revenge! THE UNNAMABLE - A couple witness something terrifying...indescribable...unnamable!

RADIOTHEATRE is not an old time radio show...rather; it relies on the combination of storytelling, great voices, music and sound design...as well as, the individual imaginations of its audiences. These primary ingredients are used to provide a memorable, live, theatrical experience. Of course, we do like to add some 21st Century touches...such as cinematic scripts, original orchestral sound tracks that you won't hear anywhere else, a plethora of aural effects and, sometimes, a few visuals, too...creating a unique production with non-traditional, modern, innovative stage presentation!

FRIGID NEW YORK @ HORSE TRADE is a theater development group with a focus on new work that produces a massive quantity of stimulating downtown theater every season. FRIGID's Resident Artist Program offers a home to a select group of Independent theater artists, pooling together a great deal of talent and energy.
