Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the August, and September lineup for the 2016 Comedy Club.
The Riant Theatre (Van Dirk Fisher, Artistic Director), a nonprofit theatre supporting playwrights and theatremakers of diverse cultural backgrounds, is holding the Launch Party for its annual Strawberry One-Act and Theatre Festival on Saturday, June 25, 2016, 3pm at the Poet's Den Theatre (309 East 108th Street, NYC). The evening will include the presentation of 2016 Pioneer of the Arts Award For Outstanding Achievement In Television and Theatre to the Emmy-winning stage, film and TV actor Joe Morton, Tony Nominee and eight time AUDELCO Award winner, Andre De Shields, the acclaimed Broadway and television actress Barbara Montgomery, and multiple Grammy Award winner, Broadway musical director and arranger Chapman Roberts. A reception with food, drinks and dancing will follow. Tickets ($50 before June 15th; $60 after that date) are available through The Riant Theatre's website (www.therianttheatre.com) and by calling the box office at 646-623-3488. With the launch of the second season of OpenICE, a multi-year program to engage new listeners for contemporary music through an outpouring of programming that is free and open to the public, the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) announces the appointment of Ryan Muncy (ICE saxophonist) and Alice Teyssier (ICE flutist/vocalist) as the new Co-Directors of OpenICE. Muncy and Teyssier have been members of ICE since 2014 and, in addition to their musical roles, serve in the capacities of Director of Institutional Giving and Artistic Operations Associate, respectively.

British actress Liz Robertson is making her Manhattan cabaret debut at Feinstein's/54 Below tonight, November 18th at 9:30pm. Her show is called SONGS FROM MY TRUNK, which she brought over after performing it at London's Crazy Coqs. She will be accompanied by Mark Janas. A special treat will be a guest appearance by Broadway legend Len Cariou who not only co-starrred with her in DANCE A LITTLE CLOSER, but was also the original 'Sweeney Todd' on Broadway.

The Aviva Players will begin its 40th season tonight, October 16 with 'Songs, Piano Rags & Chamber Music by Women Composers, including the Piano Trio by Fanny Mendelssohn,' the first installment of a three-part concert series at Opera America, 330 Seventh Ave. The concert will include piano rags by May Frances Aufderheide, Irene Giblin and Adeline Shepard; songs by Mira J. Spektor, and 'Vocal Duets' and 'The Piano Trio' by Fanny Mendelssohn. The evening is presented in conjunction with Downtown Music Productions.
