Born out of the love of hip hop's ethos to consistently push the boundaries forward by extrapolating what was unique about the past and what is radically refreshing about the future, Radioclit's Etienne Tron and Johan Karlberg have teamed up with Malawian songsmith Esau Mwamwaya to form The Very Best, an epic global partnership with the sole aim to re write western pop rules in a language which is not English. Esau who moved to London 7 years ago ran into Etienne in the second hand furniture store he ran in Hackney, located on the same road as their production studio. After regular chats about the state of global music the French/Swedish DJ/Production duo decided to invite Esau into the studio to lay down some betas, what was born out of fun and a mutual love of rhythm became something far grander. Fans and enablers of Ghettopop and bongo dance, Radioclit have patiently been accumulating friends in high places, After their ground breaking night at Vice Magazine's Old Blue Last which started back in 2005, in which the boys showcased the heaviest global talents emerging around the world, alerting DJ's and clubbers alike to the ghetto sounds of the Baltimore Projects and the gritty sound of Rio's Favelas. Their unique vision and style was welcomed by Sinden and Switch's Counterfeet Label, in which they released the 'Mature Macho Machine EP' and 'Divine Gosa EP' which has been heralded by Justice, Erol Alkan, 2 Many DJ's, Annie Mac, Pete Tong etc. Now they run their 'Secousse' tropical/world//dance club night in west London's famous Notting Hill Arts Club, with great sucess. As Producers they've painted their unique style colaborating with artists like Tv On The Radio, M.I.A, Bonde Do Role, Diplo, Santogold etc. Their dedication to global music and attention to detail has finely paid off in this their ultimate collaboration with Esau, The threesome collectively known as The Very Best, release their debut mixtape at the end of 2008 with a full album debut expected in 2009. The mixtape celebrates the exuberance of new talent on show today, with Esau's unique collabrations with M.I.A. and Santogold on the track 'Get It Up', and fresh takes on M.I.A.'s 'Paper Planes' , Hans Zimmers 'True Romance OST' & Michael Jackson's 'Will You Be There', which all feature Esau's beautiful African Harmonies sung in his native language of Chichewa. The unique collaborations also feature a whos who of new upcoming and fresh talent including Architecture in Helsinki, the Ruby Suns, DJ Mujava, DJ Cleo, Akon, and Vampire Weekend.
