ACT - A Contemporary Theatre presents its 39th annual production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, adapted by Gregory A. Falls. This year, A Christmas Carol is directed by John Langs with award-winning actor R. Hamilton Wright returning to play Ebenezer Scrooge, in alternating performances with Seattle's critically acclaimed Peter Crook returning for his second run in the role of Scrooge.

Gregory Falls' highly-celebrated adaptation of A Christmas Carol follows the original Dickens tale and takes audiences along on Ebenezer Scrooge's transformational journey. A Seattle holiday tradition since 1976, A Christmas Carol tells the story of curmudgeonly miser Ebenezer Scrooge, who refuses to get into the holiday spirit until three ghostly visitors lead him on a trip through Christmases past, present, and future.

"A Christmas Carol here at ACT is a wonderful family tradition for people in the Northwest. It's a fast-paced 90 minute escape from the holiday frenzy, delivering a much needed dose of hope and beauty; it's a story of community and forgiveness," says Associate Artistic Director John Langs. "This production is a treasured jewel, but each year we find a way to make some advances in the production, find something new to reveal in a character, and it becomes even more gripping. I look forward to returning to it this year."

A Christmas Carol runs November 28 through December 28, 2014.
