LINDA KOSUT HOSTS A JIZEL MUSIC PRESENTATION:
NEW STARS OF THE RRAZZ ROOM
BISTRO AWARD WINNING jazz/cabaret vocalist Linda Kosut, along with Musical Director Barry Lloyd, will present in showcase, several up-and-coming rising stars of the jazz and cabaret scene of San Francisco who will be stepping onto the RRazz room stage for their first time: Benn Bacot, Lauren Haden, Mark Johnson and Diane Kluft. The show will also include performances by Linda and Barry with a special appearance by Maria Diamond. This show is the fifth in a six-show series produced and presented by jazz/cabaret vocalist LINDA KOSUT and JIZEL MUSIC. Each show in the series has been unique, presenting entertainers new to the RRazz room stage and audience.

Mary Wilson is bringing her "Supreme" and "Up Close" show to San Francisco's Hotel Nikko. Most people know her for her 12 Number One hits with The Supremes. One of the first out gay comedians in the US, Kate Clinton has performed nationally since 1981 from Joe's Pub in New York City to the Park West in Chicago to the Herbst Theater in San Francisco, and back to New York for several off-Broadway runs, with hundreds of Comedy Club dates in between. Her two decades plus of material are on record in her eight comedy collections and three books. In addition to live performance, Kate has appeared in and narrated numerous films, starred on Broadway and Off Broadway Stage, and appeared in television shows ranging from Oprah to the L Word. She has received numerous awards and honors including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, and the Pioneer Award from GLAAD Media Awards.

Jonathan Poretz, who has starred as Frank Sinatra in the long-running show, "The Rat Pack is Back," celebrates the carefree spirit and fun filled nightlife that epitomized the casino lounges of the swinging 60s. Backed by his jazz and swing-infused quartet, Jonathan creates an intimate after-hours atmosphere, weaving the Great American Standards with stories about the men and women who composed and performed these wonderful songs. And just like the Vegas lounge scene made famous by legends such as Louis Prima and Keely Smith, expect the unexpected. You never know what might happen or who will show up for a guest appearance. Performing with Jonathan are Lee Bloom on piano, Jeff Neighbor on bass, Kent Bryson on drums and Jeff Sanford on reeds.

Hart Of My Heart: A Musical Tribute To Lorenz Hart
Direct from her critically acclaimed performance as Norma Desmond in the Ogunquit Playhouse's production of Sunset Boulevard, Stefanie Powers makes a rare Bay Area appearance in a brand new show featuring the music of Lorenz Hart. Stefanie Powers is probably best known to audiences for her work on the very popular, long-running television series "Hart to Hart" with Robert Wagner. She began her career at age fifteen, dancing briefly for famed choreographer Jerome Robbins. Stefanie was under contract to Columbia Pictures for five years appearing in 15 motion pictures. In addition to her films, she has made dozens of TV guest appearances, over 20 mini-series and toured in many theatrical productions including Under the Yum Yum Tree, How the Other Half Loves, Sabrina, A View From the Bridge, Oliver! and Annie Get Your Gun. She appeared in the first revival of Applause, the musical version of All About Eve, Off-Broadway in The Vagina Monologues and took over for Elaine Page in the elaborate UK production of The King and I. She recently released her debut CD, "On the Same Page," a collection of tunes from the classic American songbook. Stefanie's long awaited memoire, "One From the Hart," will be available in the Fall of 2010. She is also co-founder and president of the William Holden Wildlife Foundation, established in 1982 as a public charity to continue the late actor's conservation work in Africa.

REBECCA PARRIS & THE GEORGE MESTERHAZY TRIO
Rebecca Parris was born in Newton, Massachusetts on December 28, 1951. She was born of a family of musicians and educators. Rebecca performed from the age of 6, mostly in musical theatre. Her parents encouraged her to pursue the study of music. She studied with world-famous vocal coach, Blair MacClosky (her uncle) and attended the Boston Conservatory. Rebecca started her professional career in music working with various top 40's bands in the Northeast. She found that she preferred singing jazz and embarked upon a career in the jazz world. Rebecca has performed all over the world with her own groups, as well as with some of jazz's greatest legends, including Dizzy Gillespie, Buddy Rich, Woody Herman, Terry Gibbs, David "Fathead" Newman, Norman Simmons. Harold Jones, Andy Simpkins, Gerry Wiggins, Bill Cunliffe, Red Mitchell, Buster Cooper, Nat Pierce, and many others.
George Mesterhazy, an East coast pianist who is well known among the tight-knit casino entertainment industry, earned a Grammy® nomination performing with Shirley Horn on her album Loving You. He's also recorded with jazz vocalist Rebecca Parris and performed frequently at the Cape May Jazz Festival. Mr. Mesterhazy currently collaborates with the wonderful Paula West.
