During the BEAUTY AND THE BEAST tour's recent stop in San Diego, 21 deserving Tijuana orphans were given the opportunity to see the show and meet with the cast.

For months, Telemundo33 anchor Zeji Ozeri worked with Broadway/SD, Telemundo33, his organization A Culture of Peace, and Ken Jewish Community to organize the event.  Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is the first show most of them have seen - and was the first time out of Tijuana for most as well; paid for through an IN THE HEIGHTS fundraiser.

They made a full day of it, going to breakfast downtown at the Broken Yolk, getting a tour of Petco Park and doing sports activities; then going to a great Mexican restaurant called PorkyLand after the show for lunch.

The kids come from two Tijuana orphanages, CAVIT ALEJANDRO - founded by grieving parents after their son was killed in a kidnapping gone bad, and MORADA de NINO JESUS (House of the Child Jesus).

Disney's Beauty and the Beast, the award-winning worldwide smash hit Broadway musical, wrapped up its run at the San Diego Civic Theatre on October 31st.
