The Classic Theatre of San Antonio continues its Classic Presents series with a one-man show by the author of Greater Tuna. Jaston Williams is known around the world for the Greater Tuna series, which he began co-authoring with Joe Sears in 1981. Over the course of his lengthy career, he has appeared on and off-Broadway, in regional theatres all over the nation, and in just about every major theatre in his home state of Texas.

Williams, named "one of Texas's best storytellers" by the Austin-American Statesman, embraces the title in Blame It on Valentine, Texas, which is made up entirely of autobiographical vignettes. The play takes audiences on a journey that begins with a four-year-old Williams bringing his ballet recital to a screeching halt, moves through such harrowing and absurd moments as trying to convince his legally blind mother she can no longer drive, and ends with this Texas native on a madcap trip to China, where he adopted his son.

Critics have noted Williams's characteristic ability to address memories that are sometimes tender, sometimes joyful and sometimes somber with unflappable good humor.

You can see Jaston Williams at the Classic for a limited engagement, October 8-12. Productions on Wednesday through Saturday will begin at 8:00; Sunday at 3:00. To purchase tickets or for more information, call the Box Office at 210-589-8450, or visit us online at www.classictheatre.org. Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are accepted.
