Mary Poppins flies onto the Woodlawn Theatre's stage tonight, June 26 to July 26.

This summer, the beloved classic film turned hit musical spreads a touch of magic on the Woodlawn Theatre's stage along with a heartwarming score, spoonfuls of imagination, and a flying nanny!

The Woodlawn Theatre's production of MARY POPPINS the musical features a cast of 34 (the biggest cast to date), breathtaking flying effects provided by ZFX Flying Illusions, spectacular dancing choreographed by Eric Mota (visiting from New York City), elaborate scenery and special effects. Families will enjoy some of the most beloved songs ever written for a musical including "Spoonful of Sugar," "Let's Go Fly A Kite," "Chim Chim Cher-ee," "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious," "Step in Time, ""Feed The Birds" and "Jolly Holiday" .

MARY POPPINS is an enchanting, heartwarming show with an important message about love and cherishing what really matters.

Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's MARY POPPINS the musical delighted Broadway audiences for over 2,500 performances and received 44 major theatre awards from around the globe. Things are not going well for the Banks family on Cherry tree Lane. Jane and Michael, the children, are out of control and in need of a new nanny after sending another one packing. Jane and Michael have their own ideas about what sort of caretaker they should have, while their parents are insistent on someone strict for the job. When a mysterious young woman named Mary Poppins appears at their doorstep, the family finds that she's the answer to their prayers, but in the most peculiar way. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones she has a profound effect upon. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "anything can happen if you let it."

MARY POPPINS features music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman, Robert B. Sherman, George Stiles, and Anthony Drewe, with a book by Julian Fellowes of Downton Abbey fame. The original West End production was co-created by Cameron Mackintosh. The Woodlawn Theatre's production is directed by Artistic Director, Greg Hinojosa. Eric Mota is returning for a second consecutive summer to infuse the production with New York City-inspire choreography. Darrin Newhardt, Broadway Nights accompanist and company member will lead the musical direction.

MARY POPPINS plays tonight, June 26 to July 26every Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at www.woodlawntheatre.org, or by calling the box office at 210-267-8388.
