The Grand Theatre's new "Backstage at The Grand" Concert Series will kick off on September 13 by presenting "Songs of Peggy Lee" performed by Erica Hansen.

Ms. Hansen will sing selections from Peggy Lee's career, which spans musical time periods that include Benny Goodman and Paul McCartney. Peggy Lee was described as "The Queen" by Duke Ellington, referring to Miss Lee's regal bearing and her mastery of jazz rhythms.

Executive Artistic Director Richard Scott believes it is a brilliant pairing, saying "Erica has a successful history of portraying beloved singers here at the Grand. The similarities between Erica and Peggy are striking – both in vocal ability and performance dynamic." Peggy Lee has also been described as "The quintessential class act" and "The Diana Krall of her day."

Songs of Peggy Lee as sung by Erica Hansen will play September 13-15 in the Grand's new Backstage Theatre. Tickets can be obtained by calling the Grand Theatre box office at (801) 957-3322 or online at www.the-grand.org.
