The Wilbury Theatre Group proudly announces Providence's 2nd annual fringe festival, FRINGEPVD 2015 - to be held July 21-July 25, 2015. The only such festival within the Providence and Greater Boston area, FringePVD 2015 has expanded significantly since it's inaugural year, expecting to bring together more than one hundred individual theatre, music, dance, multi-media, and performing artists for five nights of over fifty performances in traditional and non-traditional performance venues throughout the Providence area.

Modeled after fringe festivals throughout the country as well as the original Edinburgh Fringe Festival, FringePVD brings over 100 performing artists from Providence and the New England to perform at the AS220 Black Box Theater, Aurora Providence, The Avenue Concept, Chifferobe Atelier, The Mathewson Street Black Box Theater, URI Providence Campus, and The Wilbury Theatre Group, along with other non-traditional performance spaces including a "Family Fringe" day at Peace and Plenty Park, site-specific performance inside The Dean Hotel, and various pop-up performances throughout the city.

"Last year, FringePVD brought arts organizations throughout the city together in an unprecedented way to provide artists the opportunity to present their work in a way that supports each of them, as well as the continued growth of Providence as a recognized leader in the arts," said Wilbury Group Artistic Director Josh Short. "Building on the incredible success of last year's festival, FringePVD 2015 has expanded to include more venues, thereby giving more artists more opportunities to perform their shows multiple times throughout the week. In addition to that, we've added site specific performances, and we've brought together artists from Providence, Boston, LA, New Orleans, Chicago and beyond."

Presented by The Wilbury Theatre Group, in collaboration with URI Providence Campus, The Providence Fringe Festival (FringePVD) is produced to nurture emerging and established performing artists by presenting fun, fearless and affordable theater to the community and creating ties between artists, audiences, businesses and local organizations, amplifying the vibrancy of Providence as a renowned cultural destination and an unparalleled place to live, work, and visit.

FRINGEPVD presented by The Wilbury Theatre Group is a proud member of the United States Association of Fringe Festivals and the World Fringe Network.
