RIVERDANCE, ALUMINUM SHOW et al. Added to PPAC Season

The Providence Performing Arts Center is pleased to announce that the following three shows have been added to its 33rd Broadway Season line-up; tickets for these shows will go on sale at the PPAC Box Office, located at 220 Weybosset Street in downtown Providence, on Saturday, December 4 at 9 AM; all ticket prices include a $3 per ticket restoration charge:

RIVERDANCE returns to PPAC on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at 7 PM. Described by The Washington Post as "A Phenomenon of Historic Proportion," RIVERDANCE is an innovative and exciting blend of dance, music, and song. Drawing on Irish traditions, The Combined talents of the performers propel Irish dancing and music to the present day, capturing the imagination of audiences across all ages and cultures. The show features an international company all performing to the magic of Bill Whelan's music. Tickets are $65, $58, $53, and $48.

MADAGASCAR LIVE! comes to PPAC April 8 - 10, 2011. Based on the blockbuster DreamWorks film, MADAGASCAR LIVE! follows Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, and Gloria the Hippo from their home at New York's Central Park Zoo on an unexpected adventure to Africa. Now these native New Yorkers have to figure out how to survive the wild and discover the true meaning of the phrase "it's a jungle out there." MADAGASCAR LIVE! is filled with action-packed adventure, original songs that will have you dancing in the aisles, and of course, everyone's favorite hilarious, plotting penguins! Tickets are $88, $43, $33, $28, and $23.

THE ALUMINUM SHOW, part of the TACO/White Family Foundation Contemporary Classics Series, comes to PPAC May 20 - 22, 2011. THE ALUMINUM SHOW combines movement, dance, and visual theatre to create a uniquely engaging theatrical experience. Inanimate objects come to life through the use of special effects, creative mechanisms, and acrobatic dance. Created by Ilan Azriel, THE ALUMINUM SHOW was first performed at the Israel Festival, Jerusalem in 2003 and has gone on to receive critical acclaim world-wide. Tickets for Friday/Saturday evenings, and Saturday and Sunday Matinees are $63, $56, $51, and $41. Tickets for all other performances are $58, $51, $46, and $36.

Patrons can save 20% on tickets to RIVERDANCE, MADAGASCAR LIVE!, and THE ALUMINUM SHOW on Saturday, December 4 ONLY. Golden Circle Seating and Saturday evening performances are excluded for PPAC Broadway Shows. The Holiday Sale offer may not be combined with any other discount or special offer.
