Jordan's Furniture Named Community Outreach Partner for OSTC's 2014-15 Family Fun Fest

Ocean State Theatre Company (OSTC), which recently opened its third season in its state-of-the-art theatre in Warwick, is pleased to announce that Jordan's Furniture will be supporting OSTC's 2014-15 Family Fun Fest as a Community Outreach Partner. This partnership will help underserved and underprivileged children enjoy a shared family experience through underwritten ticket opportunities to performances of OSTC's popular children's series.

Philanthropy has always been an important part of the business philosophy at Jordan's Furniture, the New England based furniture retailer, which opened its sixth location at the Warwick Mall in December 2011. From the beginning, when brothers Barry and Eliot were working for the family business, until now, with Eliot still at the helm, community outreach has been part of the plan.

"As a leader in the community, it is important to us to support children and families who are underserved," said Eliot Tatelman, President and CEO of Jordan's Furniture. "Through this partnership, Jordan's is able to provide an experience to children who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend the theater. And it is something that the whole family can enjoy together."

The generous contribution received from Jordan's Furniture is being used to offer families, through the Head Start and Foster Care programs, the opportunity to attend a live theatrical experience.

OSTC's Family Fun Fest features a variety of performances, which are held on select Saturday mornings from November through May. This year's performances include The Jester of Notre Dame, Keith Michael Johnson's Bubbleology, Professor Paddy-Whack's Extravaganza of Songs & Silly Stuff, Bruce Kalver's Magical Moments: A Magic Show for All Ages!, Squirrel Stole My Underpants and OSTC4Kids productions of both Freckleface Strawberry The Musical and The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon

"We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Jordan's Furniture in order to introduce children to the magic of live theatre." said Amiee Turner, CEO of Ocean State Theatre Company. "By exposing children to theatre, not only are they more likely to appreciate the arts as adults, but it can also touch a child's imagination and spark their creativity - skills which are important to academic success."

Family Fun Fest performances will be held on select Saturday mornings at 11:00 am at Ocean State Theatre located at 1245 Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick, RI. Single tickets are $10.00 each with packages of three shows or more for $8.00 per ticket. Discount rates are also available for groups of 20 or more by calling (401) 921-1777 x112. Tickets are on sale at the box office Monday through Friday from 12 noon - 6:00 pm, Saturdays from 12 noon - 4:00 pm, and from 12 noon until curtain time on performance days.
