South Stream Productions announces the production of SEASCAPE, by Edward Albee. The Pulitzer Prize winning play will open Friday, January 3, 2014 at Common Ground Theatre in Durham and will run Thursday -- Sunday through January 19.

A play about a retired couple learning to accept change. And sea monsters. Two loving couples meet on a deserted sand dune. One couple, recently retired, is trying to agree whether their last years will be filled with travel and adventure or if it will be about settling in on familiar gound. The second couple are, well, giant lizards coming out of the ocean. As these two couples get to know each other, they work through a mixture of fear, curiosity, confusion, and sometimes out and out hostility.

Playwrite Edward Albee won a Pulitzer Prize for this play that is "not strictly a drama but, according to various critics, has elements of comedy, fantasy, satire, and/or absurdism."

Seascape is directed by Brook North and features Ryan Brock and Samantha Corey as the lizards Leslie and Sarah, and John Honeycutt and Julie Oliver as Charlie and Nancy.
