Support two good causes through a night of musical theatre fun - with a twist. Local and Broadway talent will perform gender-swapped Broadway hits for the second annual "Broadway Twisted" benefit concert at Chapel Hill's Local 506 on Monday, April 14 at 8:00pm, presented by the PlayMakers production of Assassins and the Manbites Dog Theater production of Spirits to Enforce.
Proceeds from the event will benefit two organizations: New York's Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) and the NC AIDS Action Network (NCAAN), an NC-based AIDS advocacy organization.
Performers include Danny Binstock (Broadway's Breakfast at Tiffany's), Joseph Medeiros (Broadway's Guys & Dolls) and Spencer Moses (Broadway's Guys & Dolls, HBO's Boardwalk Empire), with local favorites Julie Fishell (The Tempest, Private Lives) and Jeffrey Blair Cornell (Private Lives, Metamorphoses), all members of PlayMakers Repertory Company's upcoming production of Assassins. Music director Mark Hartman (Broadway's Avenue Q, Sondheim on Sondheim) will lead the band, which also includes Wood Robinson of Mipso and Jake Waits of Bears in the City. Nathaniel P. Claridad (Triassic Parq, "8" The Play) will direct. Direct press inquiries and interview requests to Allison Driskill at allison@wagonwheelarts.org or 919.455.0215. High-resolution photos of performers are available upon request. For more information, visit www.broadwaytwisted.com.
