Blumenthal Performing Arts will kick off its 25th Anniversary Season Nov. 14 at Belk Theater with "Celebrating Big Dreams" - an original show featuring Tony Award winner and Hamilton star Leslie Odom, Jr.

"Celebrating Big Dreams," presented by Wells Fargo, goes on sale Monday, Aug. 7 at 10 a.m. Tickets begin at $25.

The concert will also feature some of Charlotte's own stellar talent, with former winners from Blumenthal's acclaimed Blumey Awards (for excellence in High School Musical Theater) joining Odom, Jr. to create a one-of-a-kind experience for fans and a stellar start to Blumenthal's 25th Anniversary Season.

"This evening kicks off a year-long party to celebrate the dream of building a performing arts center and all the remarkable dreams realized in our first 25 years," said Blumenthal President/CEO Tom Gabbard. "We look forward to working with Leslie Odom, Jr. who will headline a remarkable evening of entertainment."

The performance will include a live orchestra with Mr. Odom and special guests performing an array of music from Broadway, jazz and popular music. A video created for the night will highlight the people and campaign to build the performing arts center, as well as a look back at favorite memories from the first 25 years.

Tickets are available on-line at BlumenthalArts.org and by phone at 704.372.1000.

A special 25th Anniversary VIP package is also available for this event. The VIP package includes premium seat locations for the show, plus a 25th Anniversary Preshow VIP Party with a dinner buffet, open bar and a post-show dessert party and champagne toast.

A triple-threat talent, Odom Jr. is best known for originating the Tony-winning role of Aaron Burr in the original cast of Broadway's Hamilton, and for his role in the TV series "Smash." His recent, self-titled album hit #1 on the Billboard Jazz chart. Odom also performed this summer with the Boston Pops as part of their renowned July 4 celebration and was featured in the 2016 Kennedy Center Spring Gala. Broadway World says of Odom's recent concert at the Straz Center in Tampa, "This is a concert that will entertain the young and young at heart as well as a cross section of music lovers who savor the silky tones of jazz, the energetic vibe of rap and the pleasure of just plain good music."
