Frontiers Media announces today that it has expanded its role in Outfest, recognized as one of the most important LGBT film festivals in the world. As the 11-day event kicks off July 9, Frontiers Media will support the festival as a Grand Sponsor, host the Frontiers Media Lounge at the main venue, the Directors Guild of America, and distribute the award-winning annual Outfest issue of its flagship magazine, Frontiers.

The Frontiers Media Lounge will be in the atrium and patio of the DGA Theater Complex at 7920 Sunset Boulevard, and will feature a hosted bar each day, giving attendees the opportunity to meet the stars and creators of many of the festival's films.

Frontiers magazine devotes its early July issue to the festival with interviews, anecdotes, photos and reviews of the films and events. The Los Angeles Press Club's Southern California Journalism Awards just awarded Frontiers' Outfest 2014 issue First Place for Magazine Design, beating out Variety's Bill Murray feature and The Hollywood Reporter's Oscars 2014 issue. In addition to its broad circulation across California and Nevada, the Outfest issue will be distributed widely to the 70,000 festival attendees from all over the world. It will also be available digitally, with bonus interactive features found nowhere else, like behind-the-scenes videos, picture galleries and interviews.

"Outfest is more than just great films. Frontiers has called it the Gay Cannes because it is an 11-day festival that combines incredible talent and passionate audiences to celebrate LGBT film with a mad tangle of events and parties, including the wildly fun opening night gala," says Michael Turner, President and CEO of Frontiers Media. "This year we're particularly excited about hosting the Frontiers Media Lounge, which will make the festival a more engaging, interactive experience for everyone involved."

Outfest 2015 will undoubtedly go down as one of the most spirited film festivals in memory, with legacy screenings of queer classics such as Truth or Dare, 54: The Director's Cut, Velvet Goldmine, as well as an evening with actor /pop star Nick Jonas and a very timely panel on trans roles and representations in Hollywood. In addition to six world premieres and three U.S. premieres, Outfest will screen movies from an astonishing 28 first-time filmmakers and 158 films in total over the 11-day festival.

"We're so pleased to welcome Frontiers Media as a Grand Sponsor. Frontiers magazine has provided the richest coverage of the festival for many years, and we know the Frontiers Media Lounge will be a hot spot throughout the festival," says Christopher Racster, Interim Executive Director of Outfest.
