Impulse consistently sells out shows with their combination of quick wits, spontaneity, and creativity. Audience suggestions get the action started and lead to laugh out loud, on the spot comedy for the whole family. There are no scripts, no costumes, and no pre-planned scenes. Anything can happen when Impulse takes the stage!

"A performance by Impulse is not only hilarious fun for the audience, but improvisation has tremendous value for young people who practice it," said OCT's Education Director, Dani Baldwin. "Improv hones communication skills and stimulates fast, creative thinking. Because successful improv is a group effort, participants also learn teamwork and gain confidence."

1Directed by Jay Flewelling and assistant directed by Nawwal Moustafa, the show features seven Young Professionals: Maya Caulfield, Devlin Farmer, Emma Goodman Fish, Hank Sanders, Elizabeth Riutta, Emma Weightman, and Ellie Younger. Additional support provided by David VanDyke (Production Assistant) and Claire Voilleque (House Manager).

Jay Flewelling (Director)

Jay was born and raised in Portland, and has been a comedian since birth. He has been involved in the dramatic arts for more than a decade, including being an established member since the first annual Bridgetown Comedy Festival. He produced, directed, and performed in his own comedy variety show,
