It is summer 1961, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. In their cabin by the lake, Henry and Annie arrive for their traditional Memorial Day gathering with their two children. But the world is changing around them and this family is buffeted by the conflicts that come from the clash between desires and expectations.

Richard Warren's Shifting Gears runs March 7 through 24 at Canyon Moon Theatre. In a story as old as family and as new as each generation, Warren speaks of family, tradition and dreams with humor and understanding. This world premier will have you laughing and remembering as Warren explores growing up and the tensions that arise even in a family tied together by love.
Shifting Gears plays Thursdays through Sundays, March 7 through March 24.
