The Samuel Beckett Festival hits the Lantern Theater Company!

Four days celebrating Beckett: groundbreaking playwright, poet, and inspiration to nearly a century of writers. Join them for a long weekend packed with staged readings of Beckett's short plays and novels, a panel discussion, and special performances.

"Wretched Splendor: Joyce and Beckett in the 20th Century"
Saturday, October 10 at 5:30pm

    * Dinner and Panel Discussion that pairs Beckett scholar Kimberly Bohman-Kalaja with excerpts from Molloy to examine Beckett as an existentialist, Joyce protégé, and novelist. Kimberly Bohman-Kalaja (PhD in Comparative Lit, New York University) is the author of Reading Games: An Aesthetics of Play in Flann O'Brien, Samuel Beckett, and Georges Perec.

"Reclaiming Beckett for Ireland!"

    * Brunch and Panel Discussion featuring Irish Studies scholar David Creegan, examining Beckett's hotly disputed place in the tradition of Irish literature. David Creegan, OSA (PhD in Theater, Villanova University) is Assistant Professor of Theater and Irish Studies at Villanova University.
