Andrew Lloyd Webber's fantastical musical CATS, opens at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre on May 16 and will run through June 29. One of the most successful musicals the world has ever seen, CATS currently holds the record for the longest running show in the history of both Broadway theatre and British theatre. More than 48 million people have seen CATS since its 1981 London premiere and worldwide box office revenues are estimated to exceed $2 billion.

The stage at the Dutch Apple will be transformed into the setting of a larger than life abandoned amusement park, inhabited by a special breed of cats known as Jellicle Cats. It is the night of the Jellicle Ball and the entire cat clan gathers for the annual event at which the revered elder Old Deuteronomy will choose the most deserving cat to ascend with him for a heavenly reward and reclaim a new life. One by one, we learn of each cat's personality and discover that cats are very much like people; unique in their own ways. The award-winning score includes The Jellicle Ball, the well-known mysterious overture, Rum Tug Tugger, Mr. Mistoffelees and Memory. If you haven't seen CATS, this is your chance; and if it's one of your favorites, this unique, new production will be something to remember.

Amy Marie McCleary will direct and choreograph CATS at the Dutch Apple. McCleary holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. She began working with Prather Entertainment Group a decade ago when she played Sheila Bryant in A Chorus Line. Her directing and choreography credits include: 9 to 5, The Music Man, Ain't Misbehavin', I Love A Piano, Seussical, Grease, Holly Jolly Christmas, Aladdin, Charlotte's Web, Schoolhouse Rock Live and Puss in Boots. Other choreography credits include Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Das Barbecue, All Shook Up, Legally Blonde, Peter Pan, Cabaret, High School Musical, and Godspell.

CATS at Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre will run from May 16 through June 29, 2013. Performances are Tuesday through Saturday evenings with selected matinees and Sunday twilights. Ticket prices for dinner and show tickets are $49 - $55; limited show only seats are $32, students 13-18 are just $23 and children 3- 12 are $19 for dinner and show. Group tickets are available for parties of 16 or more. Tickets are now on sale and can be reserved by calling (717) 898-1900, by visiting DutchApple.com or by stopping by the box office at 510 Centerville Road in Lancaster.
