Feel more in The Future! Dream better in The Future! Live forever in The Future! In this rock and roll cabaret, BRAT Productions provides an opportunity to catch a glimpse of what the future holds. Derelict clowns, aggressive barkers, and little old ladies tell the truth about the days to come and the future that is always coming soon. Always Coming Soon: The Future runs from Friday, May 16 through Sunday, May 18, 2014 at the Performance Garage, 1515 Brandywine Street. Performances begin at 8pm. Tickets are available now for $20 at www.thefuturenearyou.com.

Always Coming Soon: The Future merges BRAT's signature rock cabaret performance style with devised physical theater techniques to create a performance that is highly visual and deeply satirical. Using composer Peter Gaffney's satirical prog-rock music as a jumping off point, Always Coming Soon: The Future is inspired by vintage circus imagery, and bouffon, an evocative performance style using high energy performances and the art of mockery to reveal unbearable truths.

To mix all of these elements, BRAT Artistic Director Jess Conda has assembled a creative team of devisors and rock musicians. Always Coming Soon: The Future will feature stage direction by Scott Sheppard, BRAT's 2013-2014 Resident Artist, and performances by Tabitha Allen, Rob Cutler, Justin Rose, and newly minted BRAT Artistic Director Jess Conda. Composer and Lead Artist Peter Gaffney leads a band of experimental musicians, Rolf Lakaemper, Andrew Morris, and Andrew Nelson, as well as realtime audio processor and machine improvisor Adam Vidiksis.

The Resident Artist program is designed to nurture an emerging theater artist by prompting them to take on a challenge that they have not yet had in their theatrical career. BRAT's 2013-14 Resident Artist Scott Sheppard is focusing on directorial development. Past Resident Artists: Jess Conda, Erik Ransom, Brian Grace-Duff.
