The Jason Robert Browne tribute to becoming a teenager opens this weekend at The Media Theatre, playing through June 8. "13, The Musical" is the award-winning Browne's look at one of the most transforming years in everyone's life.

The Media Theatre is presenting the same production produced this past winter by Wilmington Drama League, with cast intact.

Gianni Palmarini, who plays Evan Goldman in the show, is one of the main reasons for the show's transfer. Palmarini has been studying and performing at The Media Theatre for seven years. He invited Media Music Theatre Company's Artistic Director Jesse Cline to see the show in Wilmington, DE, and from that point a new partnership was born.

"The show, as presented, truly exemplifies young actors as they should be seen---honest, raw, and entertaining," said Cline. "With Palmarini's involvement, as someone who has been trained with us, it really was our obligation to allow the show to be seen by a wider audience here in Media."

Evan Goldman, in "13", is the young teen who moves from NYC to a small town in Indiana. Being Jewish, he encounters a huge culture shock and must ingratiate himself into a new circle of friends.

"13, The Musical" is at The Media Theatre this weekend through June 8 with performances Friday evenings, a matinee and evening each Saturday, and Sunday matinees. Call 610-891-0100 for tickets or visit mediatheatre.org
