George Clooney's upcoming film adaptation of the off-Broadway play Farragut North, entitled Ides of March, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, Ryan Gosling, Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood will open the Venice Film Festival on August 31. HBO has just released a new trailer for the miniseries 'Mildred Pierce.' The show is set to premiere on March 27 at 9pm. The show features Kate Winslet, Evan Rachel Wood, Hope Davis, Melissa Leo, Brian F. O'Byrne, Mare Winningham, Guy Pearce, James LeGros, and Morgan Turner.

The upcoming SPIDER-MAN: Turn Off the Dark musical was scheduled to begin previews on February 25, 2010. Financial troubles and a makeover of the producing team has delayed the opening to an undetermined date next season. Auditions for the role of Mary Jane Watson (formerly held by Evan Rachel Wood) and for the ensemble were held in April. The production's home will remain at the Hilton Theatre.

Last week, rehearsals began for the upcoming Garden of Dreams Spring Talent Show, which will be held on April 28 at Radio City Music Hall and hosted by Whoopie Goldberg. On August 6th, Variety revealed that 'the extensive work being done to prepare for the technically demanding show, both in the shop constructing the physical production and in the theater where 'SPIDER-MAN' is due to open, is said to have stopped this week.'
