Internationally acclaimed British actor David Suchet will reprise his role on stage in the conspiracy thriller, 'THE LAST CONFESSION', in Australia in 2014. The international production will play in Toronto and Los Angeles before arriving in Australia in August. Seasons in Perth and Brisbane were announced late last year and now dates have been confirmed for seasons at Adelaide's Her Majesty's Theatre from August 27 and Melbourne's Comedy Theatre from September 3. Happy Birthday, Danny Burstein! On Broadway, Burstein's appearances have included A Little Hotel on the Side (1992), Yakov in The Seagull (1992-93), in Saint Joan and Three Men on a Horse (both in 1993), Paul in Company (1995), 1st Officer William Murdoch in Titanic (1997-99), Aldolpho in The Drowsy Chaperone (2006-07), Luther Billis in South Pacific (2008-10), and Taxi Driver in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (2010-11). He played the role of Buddy Plummer in the Kennedy Center production of Follies, which went on to play Broadway's Marquis Theatre and LA's Ahmanson Theatre. He is currently starring in the Roundabout revival of Cabaret, for which he earned a 2014 Tony nomination.

The world premiere of Kimber Lee's 'different words for the same thing' opened last weekend on May 11 at the Center Theatre Group / Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City. Rehearsals have begun for the world premiere of Kimber Lee's "different words for the same thing," which begins previews May 4 at the Center Theatre Group / Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City. The four-time Emmy winner David Hyde Pierce stopped by to talk with Tavis Smiley about his latest projects, including directing the L.A. production of the Tony-winning VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE, as well as the possibility of acting in the show in London. Tony Award-winning choreographer/director Matthew Bourne, along with his company New Adventures, returns to the Ahmanson Theatre with a timeless tale for all ages, 'Matthew Bourne's Sleeping Beauty,' A Gothic Romance. Presented by Center Theatre Group and Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at the Music Center, 'Matthew Bourne's Sleeping Beauty' opened on November 21, 2013, and will run for two weeks only through December 1. Today in 2009, 9 to 5 closed at the Marquis Theatre, where it ran for 148 performances. 9 to 5 is a stage musical with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and a book by Patricia Resnick, based on the 1980 movie Nine to Five. Resnick had co-written the screenplay with Colin Higgins, the director of the film, in which Parton had her first screen role. The musical premiered at Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles in September 2008 and opened on Broadway on April 30, 2009. It was nominated for 15 Drama Desk Awards, the most received by a production in a single year. It was also nominated for four Tony Awards.

Shapiro, opens Sunday, July 21 at 7 p.m. at the Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum. The darkly comic new play continues through August 18, 2013. (Preview performances started July 10.)
