Presentations of Page 73 Productions' developmental workshop of A THICK DESCRIPTION OF HARRY SMITH (Volume I) by Chicago-based playwright Carlos Murillo (DARK PLAY OR STORIES FOR BOYS) and directed by Kip Fagan (Page 73's JACK'S PRECIOUS MOMENT) will begin Thursday, June 28 at 2pm and continue Friday, June 29 at 2pm; Sunday, July 1 at 7pm and Monday, July 2 at 3pm (please note the altered performance time for the July 2nd performance) at Culture Project (45 Bleecker Street). La MaMa presents the World Premiere of The Etiquette of Death, a Chris Tanner Production co-directed by Everett Quinton and Julie Atlas Muz, and choreographed by Julie Atlas Muz, with contributions by a slew of New York's finest downtown artists. The Etiquette of Death, the final show of La MaMa's 50th Anniversary season, runs now through July 1, 2012 in a limited engagement at the Ellen Stewart Theatre, located at 66 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue & the Bowery in New York City. The world premiere of this original theatrical work, inspired by Bret Easton Ellis' novel American Psycho, coincides with the 20th anniversary of the book's publication.

Baryshnikov Arts Center Presents The U.S. Debut of Barcelona-based Dance Theater Collective, 6/14-17

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) will present por instantes, a Barcelona-based performance group led by choreographer Julia Koch and theater director Daniel Zippi, Thursday through Saturday (7:30PM) and Sunday (2PM), June 14-17 in BAC's Howard Gilman Performance Space. For this, the company's U.S. debut, por instantes will perform the U.S. Premiere of La Travesia (2011), a work developed in residence at BAC in which music, movement, and text are combined to create dance theater episodes from passing moments at an urban intersection.

Brooklyn Philharmonic's Outside-In Annual Concert Plays Tonight, 5/2

The Brooklyn Philharmonic presents Charlie Looker, Tim Fite, and Natalie Elizabeth Weiss as 2011-12 Outside-In Composer Fellows, in the Outside-In Annual Concert tonight, May 2 at Galapagos Art Space in DUMBO, Brooklyn. The Outside-In Composer Fellowship Program pairs non-orchestral composers from diverse musical backgrounds including hip hop, electronica, world music, jazz and indie rock with Resident Composer-Mentor, Randall Woolf, and the Brooklyn Phil's own Artistic Director, Alan Pierson. The fellows' new pieces will be performed by the Brooklyn Phil Chamber Players.

Caps Lock Theatre will present The Foreplay Play by award-winning playwright Mariah MacCarthy from April 19 to May 6, 2012. It will run Thursday - Sunday at 8:00. This dark comedy is set in an apartment in Brooklyn, which is also the venue for this production directed by Leta Tremblay. In The Foreplay Play, a lesbian couple and a straight couple attempt a foursome with disastrous results.
