On Thursday, February 9, Adam Clayton Powell IV and his son, Adam Clayton Powell V, attended the first preview of  'ADAM,' a bio-drama by Peter DeAnda which dramatizes the political life and legacy of the legendary Harlem Congressman Adam Clayton Powell Jr.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, launches the Legacy Leaders of Color Video Project (LLCVP). Working with MOPED, a video production company, and with support from Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, TCG filmed a series of interviews chronicling the stories of founding leaders of theatres of color.

The Castillo Theatre and the non-profit All Stars Project (ASP), announce this week that the New Federal Theatre (NFT), founded by Woodie King, Jr., will now make its home at the All Stars performing arts and development center at 543 West 42nd Street.

New Freedom Theatre is pleased to announce the appointment of Rajendra Ramoon Maharaj as its new Artistic Director.  Maharaj, who had served as Guest Artistic Director last season, is only the fourth full-time artistic director in the company's fifty year history, following foundr John E.
