Photo Flash: Inside Woodie King's 2015 Black History Play Series

Woodie King Jr.'s National Black Touring Circuit, in conjunction with Voza Rivers/New Heritage Theatre Group, held a special presentation of the 2015 Black History Month Play Series at Harlem Hospital on February 15 with a special reading of Ossie Davis' 1950s Civil Rights school desegregation play The People of Clarendon County and the one man show Adam, the story of Harlem minister and congressman Adam Clayton Powell. Both plays will be performed February 20 - 22 at Mind-Builders Performing Arts Center in the Bronx. Check out photos below!

Woodie King's National Black Touring Circuit's 2015 Black History Month Play Series will feature "Adam," the story of legendary Congressman Adam Clayton Powell, and a reading of Ossie Davis' seminal play "The People of Clarendon County" from February 8 - 22 in Harlem, Queens and the Bronx. It's produced in conjunction with Voza Rivers/New Heritage Theatre Group. Tickets are $20. For more information call 212-353-1176.

New Federal Theatre Kicks Off 46th Season with DUTCHMAN Tonight

Woodie King Jr's New Federal Theatre kicks off its 46th season with 'The Amira Baraka Project' - featuring a revival of his early acclaimed play Dutchman from 1964 and the world premiere of his final play, Most Dangerous Man In America (W. E. B. Du Bois), written fifty years later. Dutchman, directed by Woodie King Jr., will begin performances tonight, February 5th, with opening night set for February 20th at the Castillo Theater (543 West 42nd Street). This limited Off-Broadway engagement will continue through March 8th only. Most Dangerous Man In America (W. E. B. Du Bois) follows in May.

Eric L. Williams is a native of Birmingham, Alabama, who calls himself "an eternal student of his craft": acting. Most recently, he was onstage in Lakewood Theatre's production of The Outsiders, but he's also performed in a wide variety of works including Oedipus Rex, Jitney, The Dance on Widow's Row, Macbeth, Fool for Love and The Face of Emmett Till. Among other recent performances, he's had roles in Life to Come, Romeo and Juliet and Pulpits. In addition to acting, Williams writes and directs stage and film projects, and when he not onstage or in front of a camera, he's a blogger, internet marketer and web developer.

The design team includes Chris Cumberbatch (scenic design), Ali Turns (costume design), Thurston Reyes (lighting design), and Ralph Gentry (sound/visual design). MISS JULIE Runs Now thru 11/8 at August Strindberg Rep

From today, October 21 to November 8, August Strindberg Repertory will transport Strindberg's 'Miss Julie' to an antebellum Louisiana plantation in a new interpretation conceived by Artistic Director Robert Greer and adapted by Edgar Chisholm from a translation by Greer. The production will include a ballet sequence, which Strindberg specified in the original manuscript and which has never been performed before. The piece will be directed by Robert Greer and choreographed by Ja' Malik.
