Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announces casting for the 2012 Fall Season. The Tony Award® and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical, Sunday in the Park with George by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine will be staged by CST Associate Artistic Director Gary Griffin, September 26-November 4, 2012 in CST's Courtyard Theater. The season continues with The School for Lies by David Ives, adapted from Moliere's The Misanthrope and staged by CST Artistic Director Barbara Gaines, December 4, 2012-January 20, 2013 in CST's Courtyard Theater.

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced casting details for The Mystery of Irma Vep which will open the 2012-2013 season. The show stars WaterTower Theatre veterans Regan Adair and Bryan T. Donovan.

Wandering Bark Theatre Company and Jack Sharkey present THE SEAGULL by Anton Chekhov, in a new translation by Graham Schmidt, directed by Christopher Diercksen and produced by Joseph Mitchell Parks, Valerie Redd and Jack Sharkey. The show will run September 5-15, 2012, at The Secret Theatre.

The National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest has selected Geva Theatre Center as one of 42 professional theatre companies in the United States to participate in Shakespeare for a New Generation, bringing the finest productions of Shakespeare to middle and high school students. This is the 10th year of Shakespeare for a New Generation, and the first time that Geva has participated in the program.

The Wooden O Symposium is a cross-disciplinary conference exploring Medieval through Early Modern Studies, through the text and performance of William Shakespeare's plays. The Juilliard School welcomes the inaugural class of its new Master of Fine Arts in Drama program this Fall 2012. Eight graduate actors have been accepted into the highly selective program and will begin classes this September. Juilliard's M.F.A. in Drama is a four-year conservatory program in actor training providing the tools necessary to meet the demands of an ever-evolving performing arts career and preparing young artists to become versatile and dynamic leaders in their field. The M.F.A program joins Juilliard's four-year B.F.A. program, headed by James Houghton, the Richard Rodgers Director of the Drama Division.

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), written by Adam Long, Daniel Singer, Jess Winfield (and William Shakespeare) will be directed by Andrew Houchins and runs August 3-Sept 2, 2012 at New American Shakespeare Tavern.

Artistic Director Les Waters and Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein have announced the cast and creative team for Actors Theatre's 2012-2013 season opener Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. This high-octane and energetic contemporary retelling of one of the greatest love stories ever told features a dynamic cast of thirteen, a stellar team of designers and is directed by Louisville native and Drama Desk nominee Tony Speciale. Romeo and Juliet plays only 30 performances in the Pamela Brown Auditorium at Actors Theatre of Louisville as part of the Brown-Forman Series.

The Queens Players present Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare, Aug 2-4, 9-12, 16-18 at 8 p.m., with a matinee on Aug 18 at 2PM at The Secret Theatre.

Founded in 1979 by its artistic director Jeffrey Horowitz, Theatre for a New Audience is a modern classical theatre that produces Shakespeare alongside other major authors in a dialogue that spans centuries. Its 33rd season, the last before moving to its first home adjacent to BAM in the new Downtown Brooklyn Cultural District, features boldly diverse works from William Shakespeare, Franz Kafka in a theatrical adaptation by Colin Teevan, Samuel Beckett and Wallace Shawn. In a co-production with The Public Theater, Mr. Shawn's plays will be part of The Wallace Shaw-Andre Gregory Project.
