Alonzo King LINES Ballet has announced that Founder and Artistic Director Alonzo King is the recipient of the 2020 Dance Magazine Award. King will be honored at a virtual award ceremony on December 7, 2020.

 The American Opera Project has received a New Music USA Project Grant to support the continued development and world premiere of The Night Falls, a new dance-driven blend of dance, opera, and musical theater choreographed and directed by Troy Schumacher (the New York City Ballet), with book and lyrics by Karen Russell (Swamplandia!), and music and lyrics by Ellis Ludwig-Leone (San Fermin).

The Joyce announced today the remaining digital programming for Summer 2020 on its acclaimed streaming platform, JoyceStream. A diverse selection of extraordinary dance by Kyle Abraham, Shantala Shivalingappa, Urban Bush Women, and Complexions Contemporary Ballet will round out The Joyce's presentation of streaming performances this season.

The Joyce Theater Foundation will host three Dancing Dialogues, live virtual panel discussion with prominent dance makers and artists including Ronald K. Brown, Patricia Delgado, Virginia Johnson, and Francesca Harper, on Monday nights from July 20 - August 10.

Lake Tahoe Dance Collective is entering its eighth year of presenting the Lake Tahoe Dance Festival, which will take place online this summer from July 22-24, 2020. The festival has presented over 35 works with more than 25 guest artists and 44 local dancers since 2013.

New York City Ballet today announced the cancellation of its 2020 Fall Season which was scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 22 and continue for four weeks, through Sunday, October 18, at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center.
