THE SAVANNAH DISPUTATION Premieres 3/3, Runs Through 3/15

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) begins 2009 with the New York premiere of THE SAVANNAH DISPUTATION, a new play by Evan Smith (Psych and The Uneasy Chair at Playwrights Horizons, Remedial English for the Young Playwrights Festival at Playwrights Horizons, Servicemen at The New Group). This will be Mr. Smith's fourth collaboration with the theater company.

WICKED Announces Patty Duke to Play Madame Morrible 3/24

The producers of the smash hit musical WICKED announced today that Academy Award-winning actress Patty Duke will play the role of ?Madame Morrible' beginning March 24th. Carol Kane, who currently stars as ?Madame Morrible', had always been scheduled for a limited engagement of the opening eight weeks of WICKED's return home to San Francisco. She will give her final performance at the Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco on Mach 22nd. In addition to the new casting in March, a new block of tickets will be made available beginning March 15th for the open-ended engagement of WICKED.

WICKED Comes To Omaha As Part Of Broadway Across America

Tickets to Wicked, a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Pippin, Academy Award winner for Pocahontas and The Prince of Egypt) and book by Winnie Holzman (?My So Called Life,? ?Once And Again? and ?thirtysomething?), based on the best-selling 1995 novel by Gregory Maguire, will go on sale Friday, March 6, beginning at 7:00 a.m. Tickets will be exclusively available and must be purchased in person at the Ticket Omaha Box Office inside the Holland Performing Arts Center, 13th and Douglas streets, Omaha, Neb. Beginning at 10:00 a.m., remaining tickets will not only be available at the Ticket Omaha Box Office, but will also be available online at TicketOmaha.org or by calling 402-345-0606. This will be Mr. Smith's fourth collaboration with the theater company. Directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie (Chicago, New Jerusalem), in his Playwrights Horizons debut, the production will began previews on Friday, February 6, 2009 with an Opening Night set for Tuesday, March 3 at 7PM. The limited engagement will run through Sunday, March 15 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street).

A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of $25 orchestra seats will be held daily for WICKED, playing an open-ended engagement at the Orpheum Theatre. Lottery tickets are available for every performance of WICKED beginning Tuesday, January 27 through Saturday, June 27. Each day, 2? hours prior to curtain, ticket buyers can arrive at the Orpheum Theatre box office to have their names placed in the WICKED lottery barrel where thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for these seats. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person, cash only. Each person must have a valid photo I.D. in order to participate. Ritchie Mastascusa was the Gypsy Robe recipient for Irving Berlin's White Christmas at the Marquis Theatre. He passed on the robe to Pal Joey's Eric Sciotto in a fun and emotion filled ceremony. The colorful Gypsy Robe, embellished with mementos from Broadway musicals, is presented to the cast member who has the most Broadway chorus credits.
