The Folk Music Society of NY celebrates Jean Ritchie, the "Mother of Folk", her life and music with a gathering to sing the songs that have inspired and touched so many. The concert takes place at 7:30pm at St John's  Lutheran Church, 81 Christopher Street, Manhattan (just West of 7th Avenue). Contribution: General public $25, Folk Society members $20. Joshua Davis to Perform Benefit Concert for St. Cecilia Music Center, 10/4

Joshua Davis, one of the finalists from 'The Voice', will perform a solo concert at a benefit for St. Cecilia Music Center on Sunday, October 4th. The benefit concert will help raise funds to support St. Cecilia as the official ArtPrize music hub. Opening acts for the benefit concert include local folk rock veterans Troll for Trout and bluegrass favorites Fauxgrass Quartet.

But first, he'll celebrate today's March 10, 2015 release of his 62nd (or so) album, Redemption Road; launch a two-month tour with Janis Ian on March 4; and head to his hometown of Bristow, Okla., for his March 14 induction into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. He'll also run across the pond in May for several U.K. dates, and likely keep stage-hopping through 2015.
