Roundabout Theatre Company's DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY is set to open July 21. The new musical, with a book by Peter Stone & Thomas Meehan, music & lyrics by Maury Yeston is directed by Doug Hughes. The cast includes Linda Balgord (Contessa Danielli), Matt Cavenaugh (Eric Fenton), Mara Davi (Alice), Joy Hermalyn (Cora), Jay Jaski (Lorenzo), Simon Jones (Dr. Dario Albione), Rebecca Luker (Duchess Lamberti), Patricia Noonan (Sophia), Julian Ovenden (Prince Sirki / Death), Jill Paice (Grazia), Michael Siberry (Duke Lamberti), Alexandra Socha (Daisy Fenton), Don Stephenson (Fidele), Max Von Essen (Corrado Montelli). The John W. Engeman Theater is proud to announce the cast and creative team for Hairspray, the first show of their 5th Season.

'Hairspray' opens at Chattanooga Theatre Centre on July 1st and runs through the 24th, 2011. The Broadway musical is written by Thomas Meehan and Mark O'Donnell with music and lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Whitman. This musical is based on the 1988 film of the same name by John Waters and is based on Water's experiences growing up in Baltimore.

Telsey and Co., casting office for the new Broadway production of ANNIE, will hold an open call in Los Angeles on Friday, July 15, for girls ages 6-12 to audition for the roles of Annie and the orphans. The production, directed by Tony Award-winner James Lapine, will open in fall 2012 at a Nederlander theatre to be announced.

Omaha Performing Arts will host an open casting call on Sunday, July 17 and Monday, July 18 for girls ages 6-12 to audition for the roles of Annie and the orphans for the new Broadway production of ANNIE. The production, directed by Tony Award®-winner James Lapine, will open in fall 2012 in New York City.

The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre's 2011 Season continues this summer when it brings the smash hit musical comedy Hairspray to the stage. Hairspray is another in a line of shows that have had their regional or area premiere at Way Off Broadway.

Today, New York Magazine reveals that Will Smith has called upon Emma Thompson, with whom he is currently starring in Men in Black III, to readapt John Huston's screenplay for the latest reincarnation of the famous story.

South Bend Civic Theatre hits the dance floor in 1962 Baltimore for Hairspray, the blockbuster musical the New York Times called 'as sweet as a show can be without causing tooth decay.' Plucky plus-size teen Tracy Turnblad chases her dream of appearing on her favorite TV dance show, overcoming prejudice, segregation and those who feel 'inappropriate hair height' is grounds for detention.

Casting is complete for Theatre Aspen's upcoming summer season, reported Artistic Director Paige Price. The award-winning regional theatre unveils the brand new Hurst Theatre in Rio Grande Park on June 24th with two musicals and a comedy. The new theatre tent was installed during a snow storm on May 19th, work on the interior will begin immediately.
