The Public Theater presents the world premiere musical HAMILTON, with book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Inspired by the book 'Alexander Hamilton' by Ron Chernow and directed by Thomas Kail, Hamilton begins performances on Tuesday, January 20 and will run through Sunday, March 22, with an official press opening on Tuesday, February 17. Creator Miranda took to Twitter today to post pictures from backstage, and you can check out two shots below!

The Geffen Playhouse production of The Gospel According to Thomas Jefferson, Charles Dickens and Count Leo Tolstoy: Discord, is extending for a third time, now through December 21, 2014. The production, in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater at the Geffen Playhouse, is written by Scott Carter, executive producer and writer for Bill Maher's Politically Incorrect and Real Time.

About The Book
It had been over seven decades since the world had been officially at war. But 2017 was that modern moment where the forces of good, would again need to ally themselves to combat the forces of evil. And so it was, the United States and her Allies would do battle with the nation of North Korea. But this time, there was a twist. While the battlefields on the Korean peninsula were filled with the sights and sounds of modern militaries going toe-to-toe, much of the war was taking place on America's streets.

About The Author
James Strait's professional career began as a Special Forces soldier. After the military he enjoyed a thirty-year career as a professional pilot flying over one hundred different categories, types, makes, and models of airplanes. In parallel, Mr. Strait operated a small business providing a variety of services to civilian companies and the military.
After retirement from professional aviation, Mr. Strait transitioned into broadcast radio where he hosted Strait Talks radio beginning in 2006. He began his professional writing career with the release of Weird Missouri, in 2008, followed up with Deja vu All Over Again released in 2012, and his most recent book, 'World War III, Not How You Imagined' was released in May, 2014, Vector.
His future projects involve the release of his fourth book, Thomas Jefferson is missing amid the US Presidential election cycle in 2016, and is working on another novel.
