Downstairs Cabaret Theatre, in collaboration with GFour Productions (producers of Menopause the Musical and winners of more than 30 Tony Awards), has announced what promises to be Rochester's next hit musical: MOTHERHOOD THE MUSICAL.

On Tuesday, November 27, international recording artist Nicole Henry returns to New York City to debut at the downtown New York City venue, Joe's Pub at the Public Theater for two shows at 7:30 & 9:30pm.

On Wednesday night, Broadway greats gathered at Joe's Pub to sing selections from Kander and Ebb's Cabaret. Anne Hathaway, who will be appearing as Fantine in the movie musical Les Miserables, was joined by five-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald, Eddie Redmayne, Bryce Pinkham, Broadway legend and multi-award-winner Linda Lavin, and yet another great, Harvey Fierstein, all participated in this musical evening called, Perfectly Marvelous: the Songs of Cabaret. The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Patrick Willingham) will begin previews for the New York premiere production of GIANT, an epic love story with book by Sybille Pearson and music and lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa, tonight, October 26. Directed by Michael Greif, GIANT runs through Sunday, December 2 in The Public's Newman Theater at its Astor Place home, with an official press opening on Tuesday, November 13. Yale Repertory Theatre, in a co-production with American Repertory Theater, presents the world premiere of Marie Antoinette by David Adjmi, directed by Rebecca Taichman. Marie Antoinette will be performed at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street) October 26 through November 17. Opening Night is Thursday, November 1. The cast includes Fred Arsenault, Hannah Cabell, David Greenspan, Marin Ireland, Vin Knight, Jo Lampert, Polly Lee, Steven Rattazzi, Jake Silbermann, Teale Sperling, Brian Wiles, and Ashton Woerz.

Native Voices at the Autry will present a free staged reading of Emergency Management, a new play by Jason Grasl (Blackfeet*) tonight, October 25, 2012, 7:30 pm, at the Wells Fargo Theater at the Autry National Center in Griffith Park. Packed with intrigue and suspense, Emergency Management chronicles a Cheyenne boy adopted into a non-Native family. Now a rising political star in Arizona, he tries to be everything to everyone. When his sister is kidnapped and held for ransom, he must reassess his life and overcome deep, dark secrets to save his career and his family. The reading is followed by an audience 'Talk-Back' with Grasl and the director.

Carly Sakolove will bring her critically acclaimed "Diva" impersonations to the stage this weekend in I HEAR VOICES at Joe's Pub. The one-woman show, written by Sakolove and Tony Award® nominee Bill Russell now features new divas, new songs, and many more surprises. The revised production, marking Carly's debut at the legendary downtown venue, will play one night only on Saturday, October 27th at 11:30pm.

In their first co-producing endeavor, HERE and the Hip-Hop Theater Festival in association with Collective Consciousness Theatre present the world premiere of How to Break, a new play fueled by human beat-boxing, breaking, popping and locking, linguistic flow and multimedia graffiti art. The Wooster Group will present nightly performances of HAMLET at The Performing Garage during a three-week video shoot of the production. Public showings of the live performance begin the evening of tonight, October 24th and run through Sunday, November 11th, 2012.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Patrick Willingham) and Miller Theatre at Columbia University (Executive Director Melissa Smey) will present the Brighton Festival 2012 production of A WORLD I LOVED: The Story of an Arab Woman, for two nights only, November 28 and 29, at Columbia University's Miller Theatre (2960 Broadway). Written by Mariam C. Said and Vanessa Redgrave, and directed and narrated by Redgrave, A WORLD I LOVED is a one-of-a-kind theatrical event based on the memoir of Said's mother, Wadad Makdisi Cortas, an Arab woman who lived through and chronicled one of the most tumultuous periods in recent history, interweaving her personal experiences as a student, teacher and then principal in a girls' school in Beirut with the wider political and historical narrative of Lebanon throughout the 20th century.

The Public Theater announced today that Public Theater alumna and Academy Award nominee Anne Hathaway, who played Viola in the critically acclaimed 2009 Shakespeare in the Park production of Twelfth Night, will perform a one-night-only concert, Perfectly Marvelous: The Songs of Cabaret with Anne Hathaway and Friends, on Wednesday, October 24 at 7 p.m. at Joe's Pub to celebrate and support The Public Theater's revitalization of its downtown home at Astor Place.
